If there is one thing I have learned during my 32 years of training is that the more you do what you love, the more you love what you do.. and if you can earn a living out of it – it will NEVER be ‘work’. What more could you ask for in life.

I started out my training career at the ripe old age of 22 when I desperately wanted to lose weight particularly from my ‘greek legs’ which I hated with a passion. So I started out doing aerobics classes. I then spotted the weights room and it was love at first sight.

Playing with iron has been my passion since then and I am now 54 and that passion has only increased. That fact that I was so fit saved my life when I suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage (brain aneurysm) at the age of 35. As soon as I was able I was back in the gym training harder than ever.

I found that there was so much information or should I say ‘folklore’ about how to lose weight and tried every diet I came across. I lost myself in weight loss books and diet ‘fads’. I read whatever I could get my hands on. I found that nothing worked.

I was so frustrated that I decided to embarked on my own journey and empower myself with knowledge and education.

I completed my Certificate III and IV in Fitness and after many years not believing I was good enough, I competed in my first show in 2006 winning the IFFB Australasian Figure Novice title. I was hooked!

My thirst for knowledge grew further and so after hearing about RECOMP I decided to qualify, becoming a RECOMP certified body recomposition specialist.  RECOMP focuses solely on the manipulation of body composition, reducing body fat and increasing strength and hence muscle. I also qualified as a Sports Nutritionist with the International Society of Sports Nutritionists (ISSN) which allows me to prescribe specific diets.

Since then I have surpassed my own expectations and have not only changed my own body composition but have also trained and competed in powerlifting and set and Australian and World Record in the 2012 CAPO Deadlift Challenge for my age and weight, and most recently placed 3rd in the 2014 WFF World Bodybuilding Championships in the Masters Figure Open category.

Lifting has helped me overcome a number of ‘skeletons’ shall we say, one by one, as my passion to improve myself though my sport started to outweigh each one of them.

Now I want to help others achieve their goals by not only training them physically but also helping them break their own mental barriers. I love the sense of achievement and the satisfaction of helping others overcome their insecurities, anxieties and 'skeletons' as I did mine, in order to better themselves and achieve their goals.

I love every aspect of bodybuilding. I love the ‘tunnel vision’ necessary for competition preparation and the razor sharp focus leading up to a show. I love doing whatever it takes to achieve my goal.

My work as a Competition Prep Coach is extremely rewarding. I still consider it an honour to be able to help people achieve their goals and in particular empower women to achieve whatever it is that they want through this process.

I have a great passion for this sport and I want to ignite and flame that passion in my clients.
